Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Support

Chronic Fatigue, Healing Self-Hypnosis, and Mind-Body Support

In 1993, Dr. Dyan began working with patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and with other fatigue and energy issues in the medical office of a prominent holistic Internist, Allergist and Immunologist. After getting her Ph.D. with an emphasis in health psychology and mind-body-spirit dynamics, she began her private psychotherapy practice with a specialty in hypnosis.

She uses different therapy techniques to suit each individual including interpersonal therapy, mindfulness, mind-body therapies, hypnosis, and Somatic Experiencing®. She views symptoms as the body’s metaphoric language such that the symptoms themselves can be seen not as an enemy but rather as guides and signposts towards healing and greater sources of insight.

Dr. Dyan has a nuanced understanding of the importance of regulating, supporting, and strengthening the body’s natural energy cycle to increase daytime alertness and improve the quality and quantity of sleep. Doing so allows the body to heal more deeply and supports immune system recovery.

Dr. Dyan created a few different ways to learn self-hypnosis to overcome insomnia, improve sleep, and relieve stress by teaching you how to tap into the power of self-hypnosis for self-care in your own home, on a break from work, and on your own schedule.

One of the things that Dr. Dyan has found is key to address with symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome is the say in which individuals suffering from CFS feel a kind of exhaustion that is more than just being tired. The exhaustion of CFS is truly a fatigue such that even with a lot of naps or hours of sleep, the person still feels this deep, overwhelming low energy drain. It’s as if no matter how much someone with CFS rests, the rest is not restorative. At the same time, these individuals often describe themselves as either insomniacs or as sleeping all the time but never feeling refreshed.

Studies have also found that persons with chronic fatigue syndrome, as with fibromyalgia, have abnormal sleep architecture and therefore don’t get the same kind of healthy sleep that average people can expect to have. Perhaps this is why most general sleep apps or downloads are relaxing but not very effective for people with CFS, fibromyalgia, or other chronic sleep conditions: those sleep audios and sleep self hypnosis recordings often don’t really address the sleep architecture in a way that impacts and transforms the symptoms at a foundational way, it seems.

One thing that can make a big difference in improving sleep quickly and easily is to rest in certain ways at certain times of day. You can learn more about these tips by clicking here.
