Dream Imagery as Guided Meditation for Sleep Self-Hypnosis
Raised by a Jungian psychologist mother, Dr. Dyan began working with dreams at a very young age. Her fascination with visual imagery and the search for meaning motivated Dr. Dyan to earn her Bachelors of Fine Art degree from Rhode Island School of Design.
Later, when deciding to pursue getting her Ph.D. in Psychology, she chose the Humanistically oriented, Saybrook University, where she continued to study dream analysis techniques under the mentorship of the renowned psychologist and researcher, Stanley Krippner, Ph.D..
She has run dream groups using various dream work techniques, has helped clients to use lucid dreaming and hypnotic strategies to overcome nightmares or for healing purposes, has created guided meditation for sleep audios, and has supported clients using various dream work methods to gain insights and integration between the conscious and unconscious minds.
Metaphors as Sleep Self-Hypnosis and Hypnosis Stories
There are a lot of creative ways to approach dream work, in one-on-one psycho-therapeutic sessions, in dream groups, with lucid dreaming techniques, using healing self hypnosis, and using guided meditation for sleep self hypnosis. One of the most profound ways that you may find effective for influencing, interpreting, and transforming dreams and unconscious imagery through the use of sleep self-hypnosis.
Dream Image of Hypnosis for Nerve Pain Relief
An amazing example of this was a woman who wanted self-hypnosis for nerve pain and hypnosis for a sleep disorder that had developed due to that nerve pain. She had tried everything from surgeries, sleeping and pain pills, physical therapies, guided meditation for sleep and pain relief. Nothing had helped. She decided to get Dr. Dyan’s 9 Weeks to Sound Sleep Self-Hypnosis System Package and she took a particular interest in one of the healing self-hypnosis audios: the “Dream Imagery Sleep Self-Hypnosis.”
That particular insomnia self-hypnosis gives suggestions for how to create hypnosis stories using specific or personalized dream imagery to give the person information that can be helpful. It is intended as a healing self hypnosis for sleep using dreams as metaphors.
This woman reported that her nerve pain reminded her of sparking electrical wires and that her mind and body were like a lamp that kept turning itself on and off, flashing, or being dim because the wires were frayed. So when she listened to that dream imagery healing self-hypnosis, she asked herself for a dream with a lamp and wires in it to help her heal and tell her what to do.
Within 5 days of listening to that recording daily, she had a very informative dream about a lamp that she was taking to a repair place! She said that the repairman showed her what was causing the problems and some ways to repair and maintain it. This inspired her to shift course in her treatment in a surprising way that make a huge difference! This healing self-hypnosis was intended to be an insomnia self-hypnosis with dream imagery that demonstrates the incredible relationship between the unconscious, the mind body connection, and how we can direct our unconscious in powerful dialogues to get deeply healing information. We just need to ask in the right way!
One additional thing to be aware of: dream imagery represents the language of the unconscious.
