Pain Relief Hypnosis
As a lifetime, chronic pain sufferer herself, Dr. Dyan understands the unique experience of pain and the accompanying symptoms and struggles. After searching for decades to find a solution to her own complex chronic health and pain issues, Dr. Dyan got trained in hypnosis in 1995, while earning her Ph.D. in psychology, and while working with patients in a holistic physician’s office.
That professional, psychological hypnosis training brought Dr. Dyan the missing piece she had been searching for and gave her the skills to dramatically transform her symptoms. Ultimately, this was the crucial key that allowed her to begin empowering patients with self-hypnosis tools that have a significant impact in helping with pain, immune symptoms, sleep, anxiety, depression, mood, and many other issues.
Pain Management Self-Hypnosis
For almost 30 years now, Dr. Dyan has been teaching people how to use self-hypnosis for pain relief, has been lecturing on hypnosis for chronic pain, on hypnosis and pain management, and on various pain relief hypnosis strategies.
Dr. Dyan developed a hypnosis for chronic pain relief protocol for fibromyalgia patients that she utilized in the Behavioral Medicine Clinic at UCLA in 2001. She has additionally taught Continuing Education and has lectured on hypnotherapy for pain management for acute and chronic pain at places like the Southern California Society for Clinical Hypnosis.
She’s also presented on how to use pain management self-hypnosis in neuromyalitis optica treatment (NMO, also known as Devic’s Disease), through the Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation.
Additionally, she has spoken or written about the use of hypnosis for nerve pain and pain relief self-hypnosis related to pre- and post-operative pain, hypnosis for neuropathic pain, hypnosis for arthritis pain, hypnosis for fibromyalgia, and hypnosis for multiple sclerosis.
Dr. Dyan holds certification as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner® (SEP) and thus, she has special training in how the body can “hold” trauma and how the nervous system processes the fight, flight, and freeze responses. She has found that somatic experiencing techniques, when used alongside psychotherapeutic approaches, hypnotherapy for pain management, and with regular use of the best self-hypnosis audios for pain relief that she designs for each individual, can greatly enhance comfort, calm, and quality of life.
